We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Registered Nurse to join our Research and Development team at York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will have a strong background in renal nursing and a passion for research.
The role of the Research Nurse is to assist in the management and coordination of research projects involving patients, families, and carers at our Trust. This will involve the safe conduct of research involving both NIHR portfolio studies and industry-funded research, within the Yorkshire and Humber Clinical Research Network.
The successful candidate will work as an integral part of the Research team, coordinating, delivering, monitoring, and recording the care and progress of patients involved in research studies and clinical trials. They will also promote the work of Research within the Trust and contribute to the development of the Surgical and Family Health portfolio of trials.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of research-based practice and have experience of working on clinical trials. They will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise with consultants, other medical staff, and health professionals to ensure satisfactory communication with patients and seamless delivery of care.
Main Responsibilities
- Assist in the management and coordination of research projects
- Conduct research involving NIHR portfolio studies and industry-funded research
- Coordinate, deliver, monitor, and record the care and progress of patients involved in research studies and clinical trials
- Promote the work of Research within the Trust
- Contribute to the development of the Surgical and Family Health portfolio of trials
Requirements
- Registered Nurse
- Diploma level education or equivalent
- Experience of working on clinical trials
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
