We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Classroom Support Specialist to join our team at Academics, a supportive SEN school in Reading. This role involves working closely with students who require additional support, providing tailored assistance in their learning, and helping them achieve their personal and academic goals.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting young minds and helping students overcome their unique challenges. As a SEN Classroom Support Specialist, you will be responsible for implementing individualized education plans, fostering a positive and inclusive classroom environment, and collaborating with teachers and other staff to ensure the best outcomes for students.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Support students with their learning and development, tailoring your approach to meet the needs of each individual.
  2. Implement individualized education plans (IEPs) to help students achieve their academic and personal goals.
  3. Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages social interaction and emotional well-being.
  4. Collaborate with teachers and other staff to ensure seamless communication and effective support for students.
  5. Monitor and assess student progress, using data to inform teaching strategies and make adjustments as needed.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  1. Experience working with children, preferably in a SEN setting.
  2. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, parents, and colleagues.
  3. The ability to remain calm and compassionate in challenging situations, maintaining a safe and supportive environment for all students.
  4. A commitment to supporting students with additional needs, and a willingness to learn and adapt to the diverse needs of our students.

Estimated Salary: £27,500 per annum
