Job Summary

Vetro Recruitment is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join our team in Shrewsbury. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to young people aged 14-17 with Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) and challenging behaviours.

About the Role
  • This is a full-time position, working 39 hours per week, with a salary of £27,336 - £30,336 per annum.
  • You will work as part of a friendly and settled Children's Residential Service, supporting young people to develop socially, emotionally, and behaviourally in a safe and caring environment.
  • Your duties will include encouraging young people to participate in activities, promoting their independence, and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of individual care plans.
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide support for young people to promote their independence and well-being.
  • Maintain a safe environment for young people, dealing with challenging behaviours when needed.
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with staff, parents, Social Workers, and other professionals.
  • Protect children and young people from risks to their health and welfare.
Requirements
  • Experience as a Children's Support Worker or social care experience is desirable.
  • You must be a car driver, as you will be required to transport young people on occasion.
  • You must be over the age of 22.
  • An NVQ or QCF level 3 in Children & Young People is desirable.
