About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Radiotherapy Physics Technologist to join our team in the South West Wales Cancer Centre in Swansea. The successful candidate will provide support for quality control of treatment machines and associated equipment in the centre.
The ideal candidate will have a Degree or HND in an appropriate subject and good organisational skills. Experience working in a Radiotherapy Physics Department would be desirable.
Main Responsibilities
The postholder will be required to perform routine tests on equipment in the department, typically only available on weekends and evenings. They will also ensure that quality control records and local procedures are kept up-to-date and assist with equipment management.
The successful candidate will have good communication skills to work closely with clinical scientists supporting the service and engineers who perform maintenance on the treatment machines.
Requirements
- Relevant Degree/HND
- Practical experience in physical or biological sciences
- Participation in a scientific project/research
