  • To assist residents with their personal care needs in a respectful and dignified manner, promoting independence and autonomy.
  • Undertake tasks that would reasonably be expected by family members, excluding specialist nursing duties unless trained to do so.

Main Responsibilities

  1. Assist with undressing, washing, bathing, toileting needs, and other personal care requirements for residents.
  2. Support residents with mobility issues and physical disabilities, including incontinence and aid use.
  3. Care for residents nearing the end of life, providing emotional support and comfort.
  4. Promote mental and physical well-being through conversation, activities, and social engagement.
  5. Maintain resident bedrooms and undertake domestic tasks as required.
  6. Contribute to laundry duties where necessary.
  7. Document reports, attend staff meetings, and participate in training sessions as directed.
  8. Perform additional tasks reasonably required by the role.
  9. Comply with organisational policies, care plans, and medication protocols at all times.
  10. Report significant changes in resident health or circumstances to the registered manager.
  11. Encourage residents to maintain independence and autonomy.
  12. Participate in mandatory training, including induction and NVQs, as appropriate.
  13. Enable residents to make informed decisions about their care and preferences.
  14. Identify and mitigate risks to residents' safety and well-being.
