About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Title Underwriter to join our team at XL CATLIN, a leading provider of transactional risk solutions. As a Title Underwriter, you will play a critical role in assessing, quoting, and underwriting potential risks, processing deal documentation, and managing workflow.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deal Risk Assessment: Review and analyze relevant searches, due diligence reports, and disclosure documentation to assess submissions and identify deal risks.
  • Documentation and Negotiation: Process and negotiate documentation, including NDAs and non-release letters, and liaise with our colleagues in AXA XL's legal and compliance teams where required.
  • Quote Development: Draft and submit custom-tailored quotes for proposed policies and follow up with brokers to win new business.
  • Relationship Building: Develop and cultivate relationships with title and M&A insurance brokers, lawyers, private equity firms, deal principals, and internal AXA XL colleagues.
  • Account Management: Contribute towards the running of the accounts, including monitoring and managing status/progress of accounts implementation from quote processing to policy issuance, premium collection, and policy maintenance.
  • Claims Management: Work with our colleagues in AXA XL's claims team to deal with policy notifications and claims.
Requirements
  • Experience: Some experience of title or real estate insurance (either as a broker/underwriter or from a client or advisor perspective).
  • Knowledge: Basic knowledge of real estate and title-related legal matters.
  • Negotiation Skills: Negotiating skills and comfort working with legal documents.
