About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our dynamic team in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality psychiatric care to children and adolescents with severe and complex mental health problems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose, manage, and treat children, adolescents, and families with severe and complex mental health problems.
  • Carry psychiatric responsibility for patients seen by psychiatrists within the CAMHS team.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care to patients and their families.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans that address the unique needs of each patient.
  • Provide education and training to junior medical staff and other healthcare professionals.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical guidelines and policies.
Requirements
  • MB BS or equivalent medical qualification.
  • Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practise at the time of appointment.
  • Included on the GMC Specialist Register or within six months of gaining CCT in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
  • Approved clinician status or able to achieve within three months of appointment.
  • Approved under S12 or able to achieve within three months of appointment.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Relevant higher degree (MD, PhD, MSc, or other additional clinical qualifications).
  • MRCPsych or MRCPsych equivalent approved by the Royal College of Psychiatrists.
  • Specific additional therapy training (CBT, systemic therapy, DBT, etc.).
