Job Description: As a Work Based Learning Manager, you will play a key role in developing and growing apprenticeships and other workplace learning programs to meet employer and learner needs. Key responsibilities include day-to-day delivery of all WBL programs, assessing quality, and ensuring compliance with client planning and quality processes.
- Business Development:
- Develop strategies to increase employer engagement and business development to grow apprenticeship recruitment.
- Identify opportunities for clients to benefit from relationships with employers through curriculum advice, work placement, and job opportunities.
- Curriculum:
- Plan and design all aspects of the work-based curriculum, ensuring workplace, qualification, and framework requirements are met.
- Manage resources effectively to deliver employer and qualification/framework requirements as per contract.
- Lead internal quality assurance activities for programs, ensuring high-quality delivery within agreed timescales to meet employer and contractual requirements.
- Implement robust quality assurance procedures and regularly review them.
- Support work placements for full-time learners.
- Develop new training and apprenticeship programs with other managers to meet employer need and demand.
- Promote technology and e-learning in training delivery, assessment, and review processes.
- Manage staff performance, ensuring all staff have appraisals, probation reviews, targets, and measurable outcomes.
- Meet individual staff regularly to review progress and address performance issues.
- Ensure staff have required experience and qualifications and annual training plans linked to faculty needs and client strategic aims.
- Conduct regular quality checks to ensure quality of assessor reviews meets client quality expectations.
- Arrange developmental observations and quality observations as required, following up with action plans.
- Ensure client employment policies and procedures are adhered to by all staff.
- Maintain compliance with client planning and quality processes and procedures.
- Produce timely comprehensive reports and action plans on quality and operational matters.
- Advance equality of opportunity and foster good relations within the client community, adhering to client equality and diversity policies.
- The postholder must hold an enhanced DBS disclosure check deemed acceptable to the client.
- The client is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults.
- A minimum of a level 3 vocational qualification in a relevant area.
- Level 4 Certificate in Leading the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice (Lead IQA qualification) or prepared to work towards.
- Experience analyzing data and providing performance reports.
- Evidence of successful relevant industrial experience.
- Evidence of professional updating and development.
