Job Title: Learning Support Assistant

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join our team at Empowering Learning. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and other support staff to provide individualized support to students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in mainstream schools across Lambeth Borough.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide one-to-one support to students with SEND, helping them to access the curriculum and achieve their full potential.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement individualized learning plans.
  • Assist with the supervision of students during lessons and breaks, promoting positive behavior and a safe learning environment.
  • Support students with a range of learning difficulties, including ASD, SEMH, and other SEND needs.
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in supporting students with SEND.
Requirements:
  • Experience of working with students with SEND, preferably in a mainstream school setting.
  • Ability to stay calm and de-escalate challenging behavior.
  • Valid DBS registration or willingness to apply for a new one.
  • Availability to work 3-5 days per week, with a minimum commitment of 4 months.
