Job Title: Learning Support Assistant

Job Type: Full-time

Location: Southwark

About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join our team at a secondary SEND school in Southwark. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with Autism, promoting their inclusion and maximizing their achievement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support pupils with Autism in a therapeutic and nurturing environment
  • Engage and support pupils' learning, promoting their emotional regulation and well-being
  • Develop therapeutic relationships with pupils, fostering a sense of trust and security
  • Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to ensure pupils receive comprehensive support
  • Contribute to creating a positive and inclusive learning environment

Requirements:

  • Experience in supporting children or young adults with SEND needs is desirable but not essential
  • Able to de-escalate and support emotional regulation, promoting a calm and safe environment
  • Valid DBS registration or willingness to apply for a new one
  • Availability to work 5 days a week, with a commitment to at least 12-39 weeks
