About the Job

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Stores Assistant to join our team at St Philips Marsh Depot. As a key member of our supply chain, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our warehouse and storage activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Group Stores Manager in the supply of stock and non-stock materials to our production team.
  • Order and manage materials, including train spares, cleaning equipment, and personal protective equipment.
  • Book materials to the correct cost centre on the SAP-IFMS system.
  • Conduct stock checks, unload, and receipt materials, and place them in the correct location.
  • Operate forklift trucks and other company vehicles, and perform other duties as required.
  • Ensure compliance with 6s-Lean Principles, COSHH, and GWR H&S procedures.

Requirements
  • You will have previous experience in stores and railway engineering logistics.
  • You will be educated to a good standard.
  • You will hold a full current driving license.
  • You will have a good understanding of GWR, purchasing, and materials management.
  • You will have good general skills, including systems such as SAP E-Procurement and IFMS, and Microsoft Office applications.
About the Location

This role will be based at St Philips Marsh Depot.

Working Pattern

The shift pattern will be as follows:

10-hour shifts, working 4 days on followed by 4 days off, 4 nights on followed by 4 days off, with early, late, and night shifts.
