About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated 2nd Chef to join our catering team at Sandstone Care Group. As a 2nd Chef, you will play a key role in providing high-quality culinary services to our residents, ensuring that every meal is a delightful experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Head Chef in preparing and cooking fresh, home-cooked meals from scratch.
  • Deliver exceptional culinary standards, ensuring that every meal is nutritious, well-balanced, and appetizing.
  • Assist with controlling the catering budget and maintaining a hygienic and compliant working environment.
  • Support with all day-to-day aspects of the catering operation, including food ordering and inventory management.
  • Comply with quality and safety standards, ensuring that all food preparation and presentation meet the highest standards.
What We Offer
  • A competitive hourly rate of £14.82.
  • A 40-hour working week, spread across 4 days on a 2-week rolling rota, with alternate weekends off.
  • Shifts: 7am – 5pm.

Requirements
  • Previous experience working in a busy kitchen environment.
  • A passion for producing fresh, home-cooked food from scratch to the highest standards.
  • A friendly and enthusiastic disposition, with the ability to integrate well with others.
  • Good organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise workloads.
  • Preferably NVQ level 2 in food hygiene.
