2nd Chef

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced 2nd Chef to join our team at Sandstone Care Group. As a 2nd Chef, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Head Chef and the catering team in providing fresh, home-cooked meals to our residents.

• Support the Head Chef in planning and preparing meals, ensuring the highest standards of culinary excellence.
• Deliver exceptional customer service by providing nutritious, well-balanced, and appetizing meals to our residents.
• Contribute to budget control by managing food costs and inventory effectively.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment by adhering to health and safety protocols.
• Support with day-to-day catering operations by assisting with food preparation, presentation, and service.
• Ensure compliance with quality and safety standards by following established procedures and guidelines.
• Submit food orders in a timely and accurate manner.
• Participate in ongoing training and development to enhance your skills and knowledge.

• Previous experience in a busy kitchen environment, preferably in a care home or similar setting.
• Passion for producing fresh, home-cooked food from scratch, with a focus on quality and presentation.
• Friendly and enthusiastic disposition, with the ability to work well in a team environment.
• Good organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize workloads and manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Preferably NVQ level 2 in food hygiene, or equivalent qualification.
