Job Title: 2nd Chef

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced 2nd Chef to join our team at Sandstone Care Group. As a 2nd Chef, you will play a key role in providing exceptional culinary standards to our residents, supporting the Head Chef and the rest of the catering team in delivering fresh, home-cooked meals from scratch.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the Head Chef in planning and preparing menus, ensuring the highest possible culinary standards are maintained.
  • Deliver high-quality food service to residents, ensuring all meals are nutritious, well-balanced, and appetizing.
  • Assist with controlling the catering budget, maintaining a hygienic and compliant working environment.
  • Support with all day-to-day aspects of the catering operation, including food ordering and inventory management.
  • Comply with quality and safety standards, ensuring all food is prepared and served in a safe and healthy environment.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience working in a busy kitchen environment.
  • A passion for producing fresh, home-cooked food from scratch to the highest standards.
  • Friendly and enthusiastic disposition, with the ability to integrate well with others.
  • Good organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize workloads.
  • Preferably NVQ level 2 in food hygiene.
