Aberdeen Royal Infirmary is a major teaching hospital for the North East of Scotland, providing tertiary services for the NHS Grampian Region and the Shetland and Orkney Islands. The Renal Unit offers a range of services, including peritoneal and haemodialysis, acute renal replacement, and renal transplantation.
The post of Locum Appointment for Training (ST4) in Renal Medicine is a fixed-term 6-month position that provides specialist training for an individual wishing to pursue a career in Renal Medicine. The post is designed to support a personal training plan that suits the educational requirements of the candidate, with the aim of gaining advanced skills in the management of Renal disease.
The Renal service in Grampian has an excellent track record in providing training opportunities for the Renal Specialty training programme. The North Region was ranked 3rd out of 17 for overall satisfaction, and the unit is currently sitting on the high performers list.
The standard working week is 40 hours, with out-of-hours work also required. The pay banding for the post will reflect the working pattern in operation from the first day of taking up appointment.
