Job Title: Social Work Assistant

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Social Work Assistant to join our West Kent Disabled Childrens Team 2 within the Strengthening Independence Service. As a Social Work Assistant, you will be responsible for assessing the needs of disabled children and young people aged between 0 and 18, and providing support to Social Workers within the team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess the needs of disabled children and young people aged between 0 and 18
  • Support the role of Social Workers within the team
  • Have an allocated caseload and work closely with colleagues in the Disabled Young Peoples Social Work teams and other key agencies
  • Participate in an extensive training and development programme and receive regular supervision
  • Deliver the highest quality service to young people with disabilities, their families and carers

Requirements:

  • Experience in Childrens Services
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work flexibly across a large geographical area
  • Enhanced Disclosure Application to the Disclosure and Barring Service

Working Arrangements:

Kent County Council offers a hybrid working model with a combination of home and office working. The contractual base is in Worrall House, Kings Hill, West Malling.
