Social Work Assistant

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Social Work Assistant to join our West Kent Disabled Childrens Team 2 within the Strengthening Independence Service. As a Social Work Assistant, you will be responsible for assessing the needs of disabled children and young people aged between 0 and 18, and providing support to Social Workers within the team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess the needs of disabled children and young people aged between 0 and 18
- Support the role of Social Workers within the team
- Have an allocated caseload and work closely with colleagues in the Disabled Young Peoples Social Work teams and other key agencies
- Participate in an extensive training and development programme and receive regular supervision
- Deliver high-quality services to young people with disabilities, their families, and carers
Requirements:
- Experience in Childrens Services
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work flexibly across a large geographical area
- Enhanced Disclosure Application to the Disclosure and Barring Service
Working Arrangements:
Kent County Council offers a hybrid working model with a combination of home and office working. The contractual base is in Worrall House, Kings Hill, West Malling.
