About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and empathetic Custody Detention Officer to join our team at Mitie. As a Custody Detention Officer, you will play a vital role in supporting the police and ensuring the safety and well-being of detainees in our custody suites.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional care and support to detainees, ensuring their physical and mental health needs are met.
  • Work closely with police officers and other agencies to maintain a safe and secure environment.
  • Escort detainees and make recorded observations as per their individual plan.
  • Deal with detainees who are a risk of harming themselves, working with colleagues and the police to ensure their safety.
What You'll Need
  • Previous experience working in a custody or detention environment would be beneficial.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and remain calm under pressure.
  • Basic IT skills and ability to use a computer.
  • Full valid driving license.
  • Lived in the UK for a minimum of 3 years.
  • Have valid British passport/settled status.
  • Subject to police vetting checks - clean driving/criminal record is essential.
