About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and empathetic individual to join our team as a Custody Detention Officer. As a key member of our custody suite team, you will play a vital role in supporting the police and ensuring the well-being of detainees.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional care and support to detainees, ensuring their physical and mental health needs are met.
  • Work closely with police officers and other agencies to maintain a safe and secure environment.
  • Complete forensic samples and assist with detainees' rehabilitation.
  • Use a computer and various programs competently during your working day.
  • Work flexibly across an assigned region in the police custody suites and force area.
Requirements
  • Previous experience in the police/security/armed forces would be beneficial, but we will train you in full on an initial training course.
  • Competent in IT and using a computer.
  • Full valid driving licence.
  • Lived in the UK for a minimum of 3 years.
  • Have valid British passport/settled status.
  • All candidates are subject to police vetting checks - clean driving/criminal record is essential.

  • A competitive salary of £26,112 on a 4-shift on (2 days, 2 nights) then 4-shift off pattern rota's 2 years in advance.
