Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Mandarin speaking Operations Manager to join our team at People First. As an Assistant Manager of Operations, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our back-office functions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare Daily Cash Movement Reports: You will be responsible for preparing daily cash movement reports, ensuring that all transactions are accurately recorded and reconciled.
  • Manage Payments and Fund Transfers: You will manage payments preparation, fund transfers, and issue trade confirmations, ensuring that all transactions are processed efficiently and accurately.
  • Investigate and Resolve Discrepancies: You will investigate and resolve discrepancies in settlement amounts, as well as reconcile cash breaks, ensuring that all transactions are accurately recorded and reconciled.
  • Maintain Counterparty Information: You will maintain counterparties' information and SSI against in-house systems, ensuring that all data is up-to-date and accurate.
  • Participate in Projects: You will actively participate in projects for new systems and new products launches, ensuring that all operations are smoothly transitioned.
  • Support Department Operations: You will collaborate with the Head Office and IT to ensure efficient department operations, providing support and guidance as needed.
  • Assist Department Members: You will assist department members in handling any operational issues, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Undertake Additional Tasks: You will undertake additional tasks as assigned by the Senior Manager and the Head of Operations, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Communicate with Leadership: You will maintain effective communication with leadership, providing updates on issues, concerns, and successes.
  • Provide Coverage: You will provide coverage for other back-office functions as needed, ensuring that all operations are smoothly transitioned.

Requirements:

  • Experience in Banking: You will have experience within a banking role, with a solid understanding of payments schemes (CHAPS and SWIFT).
  • Understanding of UK Payment System: You will have a solid understanding of the UK payment system, including Interbank Clearing, Nostro account reconciliations, and CHAPS processes.
  • SWIFT Operations Experience: You will have experience in handling SWIFT operations, with a strong understanding of SWIFT messaging and processing.
  • Communication Skills: You will have strong communication skills in both written and verbal in English and Mandarin, with the ability to communicate effectively with leadership and stakeholders.
  • Organizational Skills: You will have highly organized and able to work under pressure, with the ability to meet specific deadlines.
  • Attention to Detail: You will have excellent attention to detail, with the ability to accurately record and reconcile transactions.
  • Professional Qualifications: You will have relevant professional qualifications, with a strong understanding of banking and finance principles.
  • Microsoft Excel Proficiency: You will have proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with the ability to accurately record and reconcile transactions.
  • Team Player: You will be a team player with a diligent work ethic and strong communications abilities, with the ability to work effectively with leadership and stakeholders.
