About the Opportunity

Gleeds, a global construction consultancy with over a century of success, is seeking an experienced Cost Manager to join their Oxford office.

As a Cost Manager at Gleeds, you will be part of a team of 16 cost managers, working in a sociable environment and collaborating with a number of flagship clients in the local market, including Oxford University, Harwell Science Campus, and Oxford Business Park.

The successful candidate will have a broad range of responsibilities, including:

  • Supporting Business Unit Directors in delivering business objectives
  • Positively engaging with customers and developing, growing, and maintaining customer relationships
  • Delivering high-quality services and ensuring that cost management deliverables meet customers' requirements
  • Managing projects to deliver high-quality services and deliverables in accordance with business procedures
  • Preparing and presenting order of cost estimates and option studies
  • Cost planning and benchmarking
  • Cost-in-use studies
  • Advising on and implementing procurement strategies
  • Valuing completed work and arranging for payments
  • Settling final accounts
  • Providing technical advice on legal and contractual issues relating to construction projects
  • Administrating contracts as Contract Administrator or Employer's Agent
  • Managing service delivery for profit
  • Actively identifying new business development opportunities and driving growth across the Business Units' activities

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cost management, with experience post-MRICS qualification. They will also possess excellent communication skills, both oral and written, and be able to motivate others and lead high-performance teams.

Gleeds offers a competitive salary of £65,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus a contributory pension scheme, employee assistance programme, and flexible working arrangements.
