Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Occupational Hygiene Specialist to work with our Environmental and Industrial Hazards Support Group. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting surveys, providing advice, and developing reports to ensure safe systems of work within the Royal Navy and wider Ministry of Defence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct workplace surveys to identify potential hazards and develop recommendations for improvement;
  • Provide expert advice on occupational hygiene to stakeholders across the organisation;
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of relevant regulations and standards;
  • Collaborate with other teams to ensure effective implementation of occupational hygiene practices;
  • Maintain accurate records and reports of work activities and findings.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you will need:

  • A Certificate of Operational Competence in Occupational Hygiene (CertOH/ICertOH) or an IOHA-accredited professional qualification;
  • A BOHS accredited degree or equivalent;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • Flexibility to travel to different locations and work at short notice.

Location

This role is based at the Institute of Naval Medicine in Alverstoke, near Portsmouth. You will be required to travel to other locations as necessary.
