Education Support Role

We are looking for a highly skilled Education Assistant to join our team in Colchester. As an Education Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting learners with special educational needs, working closely with teachers and other support staff to ensure the best possible outcomes.

Main Responsibilities:

  • To provide individualized support to learners with special educational needs, helping them to access the curriculum and achieve their goals.
  • To work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement effective learning plans.
  • To contribute to the creation of a safe and inclusive learning environment, promoting respect and understanding among all members of the school community.
  • To communicate effectively with learners, parents/carers, and staff, keeping them informed about progress and any issues that may arise.
  • To participate in regular team meetings and training sessions to ensure continuous professional development and improvement.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in 14-24 provision.
  • Full Teaching Qualification (PGCE, QTS, PTLLS, DTLLS).
  • Experience of teaching students within the field of Autism and/or Special Educational Needs (SEN).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with learners and colleagues.
  • A strong commitment to safeguarding and protecting vulnerable individuals.

Salary Information: £21,000 - £30,000 per annum (dependent on experience, skills, and qualifications).

Working Hours: Full-Time, Permanent (37.5 hours per week, Mon - Fri, 8:30 am - 4:30 pm).
