Role Overview

As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the continuity of learning during teacher absences. You will be responsible for managing a classroom, ensuring students remain on task, and delivering pre-set lesson plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Classroom Management: Supervise classes across different subjects, creating a calm and focused learning environment.
  • Deliver Pre-Set Work: Facilitate the delivery of lesson plans left by the absent teacher.
  • Student Engagement: Encourage positive behaviour and engagement with the lesson materials.
  • Support Learning: Assist students with their work, answering questions and providing guidance where necessary.
  • Administrative Duties: Complete necessary administrative tasks such as marking attendance and reporting any issues to the school staff.

Requirements:

  • Previous Experience: Working with young people, ideally within a school setting, is desirable but not essential.
  • Education: A degree in a specific subject is required.
  • Skills: Strong communication skills, effective classroom management, and a proactive attitude.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to work across various schools and year groups as needed.
  • Certifications: Enhanced DBS and current DBS check on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one through Teaching Personnel.
