Senior Commercial Specialist

The role of a Senior Commercial Specialist at Morson Talent involves leading the commercial and contract management activity for all new build projects in the UK and Europe. This position requires managing commercial contracts, preparing draft agreements, and coordinating technical data to support variation proposals.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of our ambitious project pipeline, which includes five projects currently in development and consent phase. As a Senior Commercial Specialist, you will be responsible for supporting the Projects team in managing commercial contracts, including preparation of draft commercial agreements with Contractors, Owners Engineers, and other stakeholders.

Duties
  • Supporting the Projects team in managing commercial contracts, including preparation of draft commercial agreements with Contractors, Owners Engineers, and other stakeholders.
  • Preparing Variation notifications in accordance with future contract Agreements.
  • Coordinating technical data from the project management team to support preparation of Variation Proposals on behalf of the client.
  • Reporting and tracking of financial/Project impact of Variations as part of the budget management process.
  • Identification of potential and prospective claims from Contractors, Owners Engineer, and other stakeholders.
  • Preparation of timely responses to claim notifications and submissions by the Contractor or other stakeholders.
  • Commercial analysis on Claims received from Contractors, involving collaboration with the groups finance and legal teams.
  • Supporting the Projects team in preparation of responses on Claims matters raised by key stakeholders.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 8-10 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Good understanding of NEC or FIDIC Contracts.
  • Previous experience working within the power sector, ideally principle contractor side.
  • Strong people skills with the ability to form effective working relationships with contract partners and individuals across the business.
  • Educated to degree level in a relevant discipline.

Salary: £80,000 - £110,000 per annum (dependent on experience).
