Position: Special Needs Teaching Assistant
Location: Stevenage (Hertfordshire)
Contract: Full-time, Long-term
Salary: Competitive, based on experience (£25,000 - £30,000 per annum)
Start: Immediate Start
As a Special Needs Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with diverse learning needs, helping them to achieve their full potential. Your responsibilities will include providing one-on-one or small group support to students, assisting in the implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs), and collaborating with teachers and other staff to create an inclusive learning environment.
- Provide individualized support to students with special educational needs, promoting their academic and personal development.
- Assist teachers in implementing IEPs, ensuring that students receive the necessary support to meet their goals.
- Collaborate with colleagues to create a positive and inclusive classroom environment, promoting social interactions and emotional well-being.
- Manage classroom behavior, using positive reinforcement techniques to encourage good behavior.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Experience working with children with special educational needs, although this is not essential.
- A patient, empathetic, and resilient nature, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team, prioritizing tasks and managing competing demands.
