We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Examiner Officer to join our team at St George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a Medical Examiner Officer, you will play a critical role in supporting our Medical Examiners in their role of scrutinizing the circumstances and causes of death.
Key Responsibilities- Support Medical Examiners in their role, providing expert advice and guidance on death investigation and certification.
- Act as a point of contact for relatives of deceased patients, healthcare professionals, and Coroner and Registration services.
- Deputise for specific duties of the Medical Examiner as required.
- Contribute to the development of the Medical Examiner service, working closely with the Head of Mortality Services and Lead Medical Examiner.
- Experience of working in a healthcare setting, with a strong understanding of medical terminology and procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a range of stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks.
- Experience of working with sensitive and emotional situations, with a high level of empathy and understanding.
