Your new role at a reputable Russell Group University involves providing administrative and secretarial support to the Centre Lead and Deputy Centre Lead, Laboratory or Centre Manager, and other assigned staff members. This includes helping to organise the diary, ensuring priorities are responded to first, and reminders of appointments and deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative and secretarial support to Centre staff
  • Organise the diary and ensure priorities are met
  • Coordinate recruitment processes for staff and students
  • Assist in planning and organising centre activities
  • Organise travel and accommodation for overseas conferences
  • Book meetings and training programmes
  • Raise Purchase Orders and reconcile Purchase Cards
  • Coordinate various tasks in the Centre, including staff induction, probation, appraisals, and staff access cards

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a similar role within the higher education sector
  • Experience as a Personal Assistant, with experience in HR or Finance
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to manage and prioritise a varied workload
  • Flexible attitude to work

About the Role:

This is a temporary full-time position for an initial 3-month period. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing administrative and secretarial support to the Centre staff, including helping to organise the diary and ensuring priorities are met.

What You'll Need to Succeed:

  • Previous experience in a similar role within the higher education sector
  • Experience as a Personal Assistant, with experience in HR or Finance
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to manage and prioritise a varied workload
  • Flexible attitude to work
