About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled ATEX Inspector to join our team at Bridges Electrical Engineers. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe installation and maintenance of electrical systems in hazardous areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough inspections of electrical installations to ensure compliance with BS7671 and Bridges Electrical Safety Rules and Essential Standards
  • Ensure that all Health and Safety legislation and regulations are adhered to
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure that all items are installed to the highest standards, in compliance with the project's quality plan and inspection and test plans
  • Act as a champion for the STAR dynamic risk assessment and empower others to stop work if unsafe circumstances arise
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to Electrical Improvers and Apprentices
  • Embed and promote the Bridges' values, including Safe People, Happy People, and Sustainable Business
Requirements
  • ECS card / JIB Gold card
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (essential)
  • CompEx EX01-04
  • Experience within water, construction, or industrial industries
  • Excellent client engagement and communication skills
  • Able to manage own and others workload with minimal assistance from Project Managers in delivering safe profitable projects
  • CCNSG (or similar)
  • Fitness to work medical
  • Emergency first aid or First Aider
  • Full UK driving licence
Desirable
  • EUSR
  • PASMA / IPAF / Confined space
  • Experience of ATEX inspections & DSEAR regulations
  • City & Guilds 2391 or 2394/5 Test and Inspection qualified
  • Severn Trent Water LV SAP qualified
  • Industrial and/or panel wiring experience
