Job Title: ATEX Inspector

We are seeking a highly skilled ATEX Inspector to join our team at Bridges Electrical Engineers. As an ATEX Inspector, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe installation and maintenance of electrical equipment in hazardous areas.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct hazardous area inspections to ensure compliance with BS7671 and Bridges Electrical Safety Rules and Essential Standards
  • Ensure that all electrical installations are installed to the highest standards, in compliance with the project's quality plan and inspection and test plans
  • Follow and actively promote the STAR dynamic risk assessment and be empowered to stop work should unsafe circumstances arise
  • Coach and mentor Electrical Improvers and Apprentices
  • Promote and demonstrate the Bridges' values when dealing with peers, staff, customers, and clients
  • Promote positive health and wellbeing amongst peers
  • Act in a professional manner and be an ambassador for Bridges, supporting the business goals and maintaining the company's positive reputation
Requirements:
  • ECS card / JIB Gold card
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (essential)
  • CompEx EX01-04
  • Experience within water, construction, or industrial industries
  • Good client engagement and communication skills
  • Able to manage own and others workload with minimal assistance from Project Managers in delivering safe profitable projects
  • CCNSG (or similar)
  • Fitness to work medical
  • Emergency first aid or First Aider
  • Full UK driving licence
Desirable:
  • EUSR
  • PASMA / IPAF / Confined space
  • Experience of ATEX inspections & DSEAR regulations
  • City & Guilds 2391 or 2394/5 Test and Inspection qualified
  • Severn Trent Water LV SAP qualified
  • Industrial and/or panel wiring experience
  • Test and Inspect
