Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Ward Manager to join our team at Hafod Y Wennol, a 6-bed locked assessment and rehabilitation unit for adults with Learning Disabilities.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in Learning Disability and Mental Health nursing, with experience in coordinating and managing a team of staff. They will be responsible for implementing operational policies and processes, ensuring clinical pathways are maintained, and supervising staff to provide excellent care to patients.

Main Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the core nursing establishment in the delivery of compassionate, high-quality, effective, patient-centered nursing care.
  • Exercise 24-hour accountability for the management of the ward, including rostering staff to ensure effective skill mix and staffing levels.
  • Develop and maintain good interpersonal relationships with clinical specialists and the wider multi-disciplinary team.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse Learning Disability or Mental Health Qualification.
  • Degree qualification in a relevant field of practice.
  • Masters Qualification.
  • Relevant experience working with people with Learning Disability and Mental Health issues.
  • Evidence of coordinating and managing a team of staff.

Desirable

  • Ability to speak Welsh.
