Strategic Policy Director

We are partnering with a local authority in East London to assist with the appointment of a Strategic Policy Director on a 3-month contract, with a high likelihood of extension at the client's discretion. Please submit your CV for consideration.

Compensation: £per hour

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the leadership of the council, promoting a unified approach.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with colleagues, stakeholders, and communities to ensure the council's strategic priorities are effectively implemented.
  • Promote equality among all staff and ensure services are delivered in a non-discriminatory manner, inclusive of all disadvantaged groups.
  • Promote sustainability by encouraging a culture of innovation and accountability among all council staff.
  • Lead and participate in all service/team activities, ensuring alignment with the council's corporate priorities and outcomes as set out in the Strategic Plan.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant professional qualification or equivalent experience in leading the coordination of functions in the corporate centre or directorates.
  • A demonstrable expert understanding of the national and local social and economic context for and operations of social and public policy related to VCS/Cohesion/Engagement/Consultation.

Requirements:

  • Availability to start immediately or at short notice.
  • Right to work in the UK.
