About the Role:

Olsen House School is seeking an exceptional Safeguarding and SENDCo Support Officer to join our dedicated team. As the Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead, you will be responsible for leading the school's daily response to safeguarding concerns and referrals. Your expertise will ensure the accurate and secure recording of students with Child Protection plans and other social services or external agency involvement.

Main Duties:

  • Act as the first point of contact and coordinate the Olsen House school's response to Child Protection and safeguarding issues.
  • Access support for children and families deemed vulnerable.
  • Manage a caseload of our most vulnerable children and families, planning for better outcomes.
  • Ensure individual healthcare plans are in place for students with medical issues.

Olsen House is a unique and special place that caters to some of the most vulnerable and disadvantaged young people in society. Our pupils have Education, Health, and Care plans, which describe additional needs in Social, Emotional, and Mental Health. Many are on the autism spectrum, and a considerable proportion have multiple comorbid additional needs. We operate without sanctions, using rewards to achieve a calm learning environment for all, modifying behavior over the long term. Our emphasis is on supporting pupils to make choices that are positive for everyone.

The successful candidate is required to provide references and will be expected to undertake an enhanced DBS check.
