About the Role:

Olsen House School is seeking an exceptional individual to join our Safeguarding team as the Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead. This critical role involves leading the school's daily response to safeguarding concerns and referrals, ensuring accurate and secure records of students with Child Protection plans, and collaborating with external agencies.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Act as the first point of contact and coordinate the school's response to Child Protection and safeguarding issues.
  • Access support for vulnerable children and families.
  • Manage a caseload of high-risk children and families, planning for better outcomes.
  • Ensure individual healthcare plans are in place for students with medical needs.

The successful candidate will possess excellent leadership, management, and communication skills, with a proven ability to work with young people and their families. They will be aware of the challenges facing young people and hold high aspirations for our pupils. About Olsen House:

Olsen House is a unique educational setting that caters to vulnerable and disadvantaged young people. Our pupils have Education, Health, and Care plans, which describe additional social, emotional, and mental health needs. Many are on the autism spectrum, and a significant proportion have multiple comorbid needs. Our approach focuses on establishing powerful relationships, helping pupils develop pro-social skills, and modifying behavior over the long term. We operate without sanctions, using rewards to achieve a calm learning environment.
