Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with our culinary team to create flavorful dishes that meet the nutritional needs of our students.
- Assist in the development and planning of menus, including future food trends, and contribute to the creation of new menu concepts.
- Plan, prepare, and cook menu items as directed by the Sous / Head Chef, ensuring high-quality presentation and flavor.
- Assist with stock taking and maintain accurate records of inventory and supplies.
- Ensure the smooth and efficient running of your section, including managing staff and maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
- Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring that students receive a prompt and efficient service that exceeds their expectations.
- Work collaboratively with other team members to achieve common goals and objectives.
- Contribute to the development of new staff members, providing guidance and training as needed.
- Compile food orders for sections under your supervision, ensuring that food standards and costs are met.
- Gain an understanding of food costing, sales mix, and menu planning to inform menu development and inventory management.
- Adhere to company policies on hygiene, health, and safety, and maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.
- Act as a positive ambassador for the company, representing Holroyd Howe in a professional and courteous manner.
- Previous experience working in a similar role within a contract catering company or educational institution.
- Culinary degree or relevant certifications from a recognized culinary institute.
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards and best practices.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure in a high-volume kitchen environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
