Hampshire, United Kingdom Hampshire County Council Full time

Join Hampshire County Council as a Newly Qualified Social Worker and embark on a two-year Graduate Training Scheme (GETS). Our pioneering programme provides a comprehensive support system, designed to help you build strong foundations in skills and confidence.

We are looking for ambitious and forward-thinking social workers who can contribute to our OUTSTANDING Children's Services team. As part of our GETS, you will join a cohort of Graduate Trainees for an intensive 4-week induction period, followed by placement in one of our district teams for the Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE).

During your ASYE, you will receive regular supervision, a dedicated Practice Educator, and a structured programme of learning and development. Your caseloads will remain low throughout the year, increasing in line with your skills and confidence. You will also have access to 11 structured development days and 11 additional days for self-directed learning.

Our strengths-based approach, The Hampshire Approach, is revolutionising the way we work with children and families. As a social worker, you will be part of this transformation and have the opportunity to develop innovative solutions to complex problems.

The role offers a competitive starting salary of £33,951 per annum plus a £2,000 market supplement, rising to £38,092 after successful completion of your ASYE. You may also be eligible for a £3,000 one-off payment upon successful completion of GETS. With a full driving licence and access to a car, you will be able to travel to various locations across the county, making this an ideal opportunity for those who enjoy working independently and managing their time effectively.

Hampshire County Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people, and adults. We expect all employees, workers, and volunteers to share this commitment. We are a Disability Confident Employer and strive to ensure that our recruitment and selection process is inclusive and accessible.
