Hampshire Children's Services Graduate Social Worker Role
1 month ago
Job Details:
Salary: £33,951 per annum plus £2,000 market supplement (actual salary £35,951 per annum), with the potential to rise to £38,092 after successful completion of your Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE)
Work Location: Countywide, Hampshire
Hours per week: 37
Contract Type: Permanent
The Role:
Start your social work career with Hampshire County Council's OUTSTANDING Children's Services team and become part of one of the top performing local authorities in the country. Our pioneering Scheme provides a two-year programme of support and learning, designed to equip you with the skills and confidence to succeed in frontline social work.
As a Graduate Social Worker, you will join a cohort of ambitious and forward-thinking Newly Qualified Social Workers, initially undertaking an intensive 4-week induction period of high-quality training. You will then join one of our district teams to complete your ASYE, with full support from regular supervision, a dedicated Practice Educator, and a comprehensive programme of learning and development.
During your ASYE, you will have access to 11 structured development days and an additional 11 days for self-directed learning, which could include shadowing opportunities, visits to multi-agency partners, research, or portfolio days. Upon successful completion of the Scheme, you may be entitled to a £3,000 one-off payment.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a team that is revolutionising its processes to allow social workers greater flexibility in their work, using the Hampshire Approach, a strengths-based approach to delivery. Strong collaborative working relationships and a network of multi-agency hubs make this the ideal place to begin your social work journey.
Requirements:
You must be able to meet the travel requirements of the role, which typically involves a full driving licence and access to a car. However, reasonable adjustments will be considered to cater for a declared disability. If you hold a provisional licence but have not yet passed your test, you are welcome to apply and will be interviewed if shortlisted.
Vetting Requirements:
This role is subject to a Criminal Records Check, and references will be requested prior to interview. Hampshire County Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people, and adults, and we expect all employees, workers, and volunteers to share this commitment.
