NHS Dermatology Medical Secretary Assistant Job

We are seeking a skilled Medical Secretary Assistant to join our Dermatology department, providing administrative support and ensuring seamless communication between medical teams.

Job Overview:

The ideal candidate will possess excellent typing skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office packages, and the ability to work efficiently under pressure. Experience with audio typing is essential, while knowledge of medical terminology is desirable.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide secretarial support to the Specialty Team in Dermatology by typing letters and reports, managing telephone queries, and arranging diagnostic investigations.
  • Cover for Medical Secretaries as part of the role, demonstrating adaptability and flexibility.

Requirements:

  • GCSE English Grade C or equivalent, Typing and/or Word/Text Processing Skills, or relevant experience.
  • Audio typing experience to RSA II or equivalent, 4 GCSEs at Grade C or equivalent, Business Admin NVQ II or equivalent.

Desirable Qualities:

  • Previous office experience, some knowledge of medical terminology, NHS experience.

Competencies:

  • Working to deadlines, use own initiative, adaptable to change, working in a team.

Salary Estimate: £18,000 - £22,000 per annum (dependent on location).
