Role Overview:

The University of Oxford is seeking a Senior Development Executive to join the Social Sciences team as the lead fundraiser for Oxford's Department of Politics and International Relations (DPIR). As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for shaping fundraising propositions with senior academics and identifying and meeting current or prospective donors to raise £1m+ each year in philanthropy. Working closely with academic and administrative colleagues in the Department, along with colleagues in the wider Development team, you will be able to clearly communicate complex ideas to potential donors that align with the University's strategic goals.

About You:

The successful candidate will be an experienced fundraising professional with a strong track record and a confident approach to achieving ambitious income targets. You will be an excellent communicator who possesses diplomacy and creativity, as well as the ability to operate in a large, complex institution with multiple stakeholders. An interest in the Department's research and teaching areas will be crucial, however no academic background in the field is required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Liaise with senior academics to shape fundraising propositions and identify potential donors
• Spend the greater part of time identifying and meeting current or prospective donors to raise £1m+ each year in philanthropy
• Work closely with academic and administrative colleagues in the Department and wider Development team to clearly communicate complex ideas to potential donors

Salary:

£46,485 - £55,295 per annum with possible extension to £62,098 – plus an Oxford University weighting of £1,500 per year (pro rata)
