Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Clinical Mental Health Specialist to join our team at NHS Dumfries & Galloway. As a key member of our Community Mental Health Nursing Team, you will work closely with patients and carers to provide assessment, support, advice, and interventions to help individuals recover and achieve sustained wellbeing and self-management.

About the Role:

This is a challenging yet rewarding opportunity for a Registered Mental Health Nurse to work with people who present with moderate to severe mental health issues. You will be responsible for providing safe and effective clinical assessment, developing strong therapeutic working relationships, and linking in with colleagues across the health and social care partnership and third and independent sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide assessment, support, advice, and interventions to support individuals to recover and achieve sustained wellbeing and self-management.
  • Work closely with patients and carers to develop strong therapeutic working relationships.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a Registered Mental Health Nurse qualification, NMC PIN, and experience working with people with complex mental health issues. You will also need to demonstrate strong leadership qualities, the ability to make effective clinical decisions in pressured situations, and excellent communication skills.
