Screwfix is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Strategic Trading Manager to join our team. As a key member of our buying team, you will be responsible for driving sales and profit targets for your category by developing and executing a strategic trading plan.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a 2-year category strategy with market and customer insights.
  • Propose and execute a 12-month trading plan, negotiating promotional support with suppliers.
  • Identify shortfalls and propose remedial actions to achieve KPIs.
  • Maintain competitive awareness and use market insights to inform trading plans.
  • Manage range changes and execute exit strategies where necessary.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations to secure business support and engagement.
  • Participate in financial budgeting and forecasting activities.

Requirements

  • Experience in retail trading, buying, or a similar role.

  • Excellent presentation and project management skills.
