Become a Trained Driving Instructor
We're My Four Wheels, a thriving driving school with 200 active instructors and many more in training. The pandemic-induced test centre backlogs have created a perfect storm, driving up learner demand and instructor earnings.
On average, our driving instructors now earn £3 more per hour compared to last year, with over 70% boasting waiting lists of up to 6 months. This trend is expected to continue, offering unprecedented opportunities for motivated individuals.
Join our ranks and benefit from:
- An estimated hourly income of £20-£30, significantly higher than the national average.
- A comprehensive training program tailored to your needs.
- The flexibility to manage your schedule and client base.
You don't require prior experience in the driving industry; our recruits come from various fields, including:
- Driving industry professionals (HGV drivers, delivery drivers, van drivers, LGV drivers, and bus drivers).
- Finance industry experts (finance managers, accountants, analysts, supervisors, and directors).
- IT professionals (IT support specialists, cybersecurity experts, web designers, engineers, and developers).
- Healthcare professionals (care assistants, care managers, trainers, doctors, and nurses).
- Education professionals (teachers, teaching assistants, admin officers, personal assistants, and lecturers).
To qualify as a driving instructor, ensure you meet these essential criteria:
- Hold a valid full UK driving license (or approved foreign license) for at least 2.5 years.
- Have no driving bans within the last 4 years.
- Have no more than 6 points on your license.
