Job Role

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to support the design of advanced thermal and fluid systems for our Fusion and Modular business unit. The successful candidate will provide analysis and calculation support across all Cooling Water Island Systems and contribute to an internal centre of excellence for analysis and calculation methodology.

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  1. Providing analysis and calculation support for Cooling Water Island Systems
  2. Contributing to a centre of excellence for analysis methodologies
  3. Generating static and transient flow and thermal analyses using various software tools

Additional tasks will include:

  1. System design and integration
  2. Producing, reviewing, and updating system documentation
  3. Performing analysis to define system control philosophy
  4. Sizing of components
  5. Conducting thermal-hydraulic calculations and modeling
  6. Formulating equipment specifications

Key qualifications for this role include:

  • Minimum 2:1 BEng in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • Relevant senior engineering experience in sectors like offshore, renewables, nuclear, or other highly regulated industries
  • Solid background in mechanical and structural engineering
  • Proficient with CAD software: Skilled in Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, and/or Catia
  • Strong mathematical skills: Experienced with MathCAD software
  • Skilled in producing technical reports: Expertise in creating design and substantiation reports, assembly procedures, etc.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes: Understanding of welding, machining, etc.
  • Experienced with the engineering design cycle from Concept to Manufacture
