About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Design Engineer to join our team at GKN Aerospace. As a key member of our EWIS Installation Design team, you will be responsible for designing and developing electrical wire harnesses for our aircraft systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop 3D models of electrical wire harnesses using CatiaV5
  • Collaborate with customers to assess and incorporate design changes into existing design data sets
  • Support Fokker Elmo's Manufacturing Engineering team on site as needed
  • Represent Fokker Elmo in integration meetings with customers and assess the impact of change requests on EWIS design data sets
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline, preferably aerospace engineering
  • At least 5 years of experience in EWIS installation design and 3D modeling of electrical wire harnesses using CatiaV5
  • Experience in performing quality reviews of design data sets prior to formal release
  • Ability to perform work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations and/or program requirements
Preferred Qualifications
  • GKN Aerospace experience
  • Familiarity with airworthiness regulations and DOA (Part 21J) principles
  • Experience with design tools CatiaV5 (electrical workbench) and Enovia
  • Understanding of configuration management principles and technical requirements
