About Polaris Community:
We are a leading provider of residential care services for young males aged 13-18 years, operating across Surrey and West Sussex.
Job Overview:
This is an excellent opportunity to join our team as a Mentor for Young Adults, playing a key role in supporting the care and well-being of our young residents.
Key Responsibilities:
- To provide mentorship and guidance to young people, helping them to develop essential life skills and achieve their full potential.
- To plan and deliver individualised programmes, focusing on areas such as education, employment, and personal development.
- To collaborate with colleagues to develop and deliver effective strategies for managing challenging behaviour and promoting positive relationships.
- To contribute to the overall management of our residential settings, including maintenance of premises and administration of day-to-day tasks.
- To administer medication and first aid as required, maintaining accurate records and adhering to established protocols.
Requirements:
- Prior experience working with young people or challenging behaviour, with a commitment to ongoing professional development.
- Hold a valid driving licence and have access to a vehicle, due to rural locations.
- Hold a Residential Childcare/Families Practitioner Diploma/Children and Young People's Workforce/NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care or equivalent qualification.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written.
Salary and Benefits:
Competitive salary: £23.54 per hour (based on 37 hours per week), rising to £25.04 after one year's service.
