Carpentry and Plumbing Expert Required

Mtjoy is seeking a skilled Carpenter/Plumber to join our team in Portsmouth City Council. As a Carpenter/Plumber, you will be responsible for undertaking responsive and routine repairs and void repairs to the council's housing and corporate assets stock.

You will work in various property types, including social housing, schools, public conveniences, offices, heritage, and museums. Your skills, knowledge, experience, and training will be utilized to carry out the "right work at the right time," ensuring a high-quality standard of workmanship, health & safety, and compliance with the company's processes and procedures.

The ideal candidate will have an open and positive attitude, be a team player, and be able to embrace and work in new ways to improve themselves, the team, and service to the client. You will be professional at all times and demonstrate high standards of customer service and care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • A wide variety of carpentry and plumbing repairs in occupied homes, buildings, and empty properties.
  • Fitting of various types of doors, first and second fixing, kitchen installations, repairing minor leaks, replacing sanitary wear, ceramic wall tiling, vinyl floor tiling, and non-licensed asbestos removal.

Requirements:

  • NVQ level 2-3 in carpentry/plumbing or equivalent.
  • Trade-based experience may be considered.
  • 2 – 5 years' experience of working in Social Housing or Building Maintenance environment.
