About the Role

Mtjoy is seeking a skilled Carpenter/Plumber to join our team. As a Carpenter/Plumber, you will be responsible for undertaking responsive and routine repairs and void repairs to Portsmouth City Council's Housing and Corporate Assets stock.

You will work in all of PCC's property portfolio, including Social Housing, Schools, Public Conveniences, Offices, Heritage, and Museums. You will use your skills, knowledge, experience, and training to carry out the 'right work at the right time' ensuring a high-quality standard of workmanship, health & safety, and compliance to the Company's processes and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • A wide variety of carpentry and plumbing repairs in occupied homes, buildings, and empty properties.
  • Fitting of various types of doors, first and second fixing, kitchen installations, repairing minor leaks, replacing sanitary wear, ceramic wall tiling, vinyl floor tiling, and non-licenced asbestos removal.

Requirements

  • NVQ level 2-3 in carpentry/plumbing or equivalent.
  • Trade-based experience may be considered.
  • 2 – 5 years' experience of working in Social Housing or Building Maintenance environment.
