Job Summary:
We are seeking a Supply Chain Operations Specialist to join our team in Dunfermline. This role will involve managing supply chain inventory, ensuring optimal inventory and operational planning, and providing logistics and accounting guidance to stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Developing and maintaining on-board engineering spares Forward Inventory to optimise inventory and operational planning.
- Using MOD Logistic Information Systems to comply with equipment and system fit status and relevant technical documentation.
- Conducting annual reviews of ship equipment inventory, adjusting spares to support changes in equipment status, obsolescence, or documentation.
- Leading and advising stakeholders to ensure all RN and RFA ship through life support onboard Forward Inventory tasks are undertaken efficiently and effectively.
- Providing logistics, accounting, and disposal guidance, ensuring tasks are timely and comply with policy and procedures coordinating with project teams.
- Ensuring Inventory disposal is coordinated with Equipment Project Teams and the Defence Sales Agency, whilst considering recycling opportunities.
- Providing written briefs, updates, and lessons learned for line management as required.
- Recommending ways to optimise on-board Maritime Forward inventory to maximise capability, operability, and minimise costs for operational tasks.
Requirements:
- Evidence of analysing, interpreting and acting upon complex data/information.
- Experience of stakeholder engagement across varying grades and ranks, internal and external.
- Examples of delivering customer service.
- Ability to determine short-term priorities for self and others.
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, and Access). (Training will be provided if required, on MOD Log IS).
