Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Children and Youth Specialist. This role involves working in a mentoring capacity with children and youth, providing the support needed to help them meet their social, emotional, and academic challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Build positive and trusting relationships with parents and caregivers
  • Assist youth in building upon their strengths via teaching social skills, anger management, coping skills, and alternative behaviors that promote positive self-esteem and improved overall functioning
  • Collaborate with other professionals to ensure comprehensive support for youth and families
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
  • Experience working with at-risk children and youth an asset
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
