Join Teaching Personnel in their search for a dedicated Youth Support Professional to join an Ofsted-rated "Good" secondary school in Levenshulme. As a Youth Support Professional, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that students feel safe, supported, and motivated to engage with their education and reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Building strong, trusting relationships with students, acting as a mentor and role model, and offering emotional and behavioral support as needed.
  • Providing one-to-one support and small group interventions to help students with social, emotional, and behavioral issues, ensuring they stay focused and engaged in their learning.
  • Working closely with teachers, pastoral staff, and other support workers to identify students who may be at risk of disengagement, and developing strategies to help them overcome barriers to their education.
  • Assisting in the creation and implementation of individualized learning and behavioral plans to support students in need of additional guidance.
  • Acting as a liaison between the school, parents, and external agencies to ensure students receive the holistic support they need, both in and out of school.
  • Encouraging positive behavior and attitudes by helping students build resilience, self-esteem, and coping skills.
  • Monitoring students' progress and providing regular feedback to teaching staff and other school professionals to ensure that interventions are effective.
  • Supporting after-school activities, projects, and workshops aimed at personal development, peer support, and life skills.
  • Promoting a positive school culture where students feel safe, respected, and valued, helping to maintain a supportive and inclusive school environment.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience working with young people, ideally in a school, youth work, or mentoring role, with a focus on supporting students with social, emotional, and behavioral needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport quickly and develop meaningful relationships with young people.
  • A compassionate and empathetic approach, with a genuine desire to help students overcome challenges and succeed.
  • Good organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle a varied and dynamic workload.
  • Experience working collaboratively with teaching staff, parents, and external support agencies to create effective support plans for students.
  • A proactive attitude, with a commitment to contributing positively to the school community and fostering a supportive learning environment.

  • Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday
  • Pay: £419.25 - £500 per week, based on experience
